North America

North America is the third largest continent on earth. It is located in the Northern Hemisphere and almost entirely in the Western Hemisphere. It lies between the Pacific ocean on the west and the atlantic-ocean on the east, with the arctic Ocean to the north and south-america to the south. North America is home to many kinds of landforms, people, and wildlife, making it one of the most varied continents in the world.

The continent includes 23 countries and many islands. The largest countries are the united-states, canada, and mexico. Together, they make up most of the land area of North America. Other countries in the region include those in the Caribbean, such as Cuba, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic, and countries in Central America, like Costa Rica, Honduras, and Panama.

North America has many different types of land and weather. In the far north, the land is cold and icy, with areas like greenland and northern Canada covered in snow most of the year. Central parts of the continent have forests, plains, and lakes, while the southern areas are warm and tropical.
